Back to the Water

You’d have thought, after all time we spent on boats in the Bahamas, we might not want to be back out on the water.  But when I mentioned getting Party Quirks off the rack this afternoon, Jenni said “I never say no to a boat”.  So, with a 70% chance of thunderstorms, we sprayed on the sunscreen and headed for the marina.  It was well worth the effort.New Name 11

The thunderstorms never materialized.  We headed up the river the Intercoastal and headed south, with the intention of going to the little restaurant at the 210 bridge.  But when we got the Beach Boulevard bridge … we found the waterway still closed for construction.  They’re demolishing the old bridge, and clearing the debris is taking longer than expected.  So we couldn’t go any further south than Beach  Boulevard.

No matter.  Billy’s Boathouse is right at the Beach Boulevard, so we pulled in, tied up, and had some lunch.

I really enjoy the rare opportunities I have to be out on the boat not on a weekend.  There were a few other boats out, but nothing like the mob that crowds the river and waterway on weekends.

Honestly, it’s been a very quiet day.  After all the adventure we’ve had the past week, I’m about tapped out for something to write.

Tomorrow’s going to be a difficult day at work.  I’m supposed to be on vacation, but I have to go in for a while anyway.  Hopefully it won’t be too long.

Stick a fork in me … I’m done.
